What is NJOI Now?

NJOI Now is an over-the-top service that gives you free access to a selection of TV channels (such as Astro Awani, Astro Prima, Astro AEC etc) and video-on-demand (VOD). This means that you can watch the channel or VOD title of your choice on either your mobile phone, your laptop, desktop or tablet, anytime anywhere.

You will be able to have full access to 18 free channels and about 15 boxsets of free VOD content at any one time without ever having to pay any fees. You can subscribe to the Syok Syok Pass to unlock more than 4000 hours of Korean, Malay and Chinese shows with day-date Korean shows on linear channels!

Who can access NJOI Now?

Anyone in Malaysia can access NJOI Now.

 

How can NJOI Now be accessed?

NJOI Now app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on supported Android devices and from the Apple Store on supported Apple devices. For access on desktops or laptops, users can log on to www.njoinow.com

After downloading, users can begin watching for FREE, or they can log in using their Facebook ID or Astro ID.

Signing up for an Astro ID:

Steps:

  1. Launch the app and press SIGN UP
  2. Fill in the required details. (Note: Astro ID should have at least 8 characters, either all letters or combination of letters & numbers)
  3. Press REGISTER upon completing the details

I am an NJOI customer. What are the content I will be able to access on NJOI Now?

Yes, NJOI customers can link their NJOI accounts to NJOI Now on NJOI Now with these steps: Settings > Link Your NJOI Box > Fill in details (NJOI Account No. / Smartcard No.)

 


SIGN UP & GET STARTED

 

1. How do I sign up for NJOI Now?

You can sign up by creating an Astro ID or via Facebook. If you already have an Astro ID, you may login using the same credentials.

To create an Astro ID, follow the instructions below:

Steps:

  1. Launch the app and press SIGN UP
  2. Fill in the required details. (Note: Astro ID should have at least 8 characters, either all letters or combination of letters & numbers)
  3. Press REGISTER upon completing the details
  4. Email Validation prompt: Login to the email account of the email address you used and validate the sign up

 

2. I have previously created an Astro ID and would like to link it with my Facebook account, but I can’t remember the Astro ID anymore. What do I do?

Choose “Forgot Astro ID” on the login screen of NJOI Now, and your Astro ID will be emailed to the inbox of the email you have used to sign up for the Astro ID.

 

 

3. Can I link my Facebook account to more than one Astro ID?

No, each Facebook account can only be linked to one Astro ID.

 

4. Can I watch NJOI Now content on multiple devices simultaneously with the same Astro ID?

Yes, your Astro ID may be used to login and watch content on two registered devices at the same time.

 

5. Where can I view/update my list of registered devices?

You can register 2 devices at any given time. To view/update, go to “Settings”, and then to “Device Management” to view the list of devices registered to your Astro ID. You can perform an update by switching out any registered devices if you desire BUT it will be limited to switching out one device per month, and switching out a device lets you register another device for you to access and watch content on NJOI Now with your Astro ID.  Please note that IOS devices will not have the option to purchase content, only for viewing free and entitled content.

6. I have forgotten my Astro ID or my password. What do I do?

If you’ve forgotten your Astro ID, go to NJOI Now and choose “Forgot Astro ID” from the login page, and then enter the email address which you’ve used to sign up for your Astro ID.

If you’ve forgotten your password, go to NJOI Now and choose “Forgot Password” from the login page, and then enter your Astro ID.

Then, follow the instructions and the steps to retrieve your Astro ID or reset your password will be emailed to you.

 

7. My Astro ID is locked. What do I need to do?

Please check the email which you’ve used to sign up for your Astro ID. You should have received an email to unlock your Astro ID from us. If you did not, please send us a message via the Contact Us tab in Settings.

 

8. I suspect my Astro ID is being misused, how do I report this?

Please send us a message via web feedback form via the Contact Us tab in Settings  to report the case.

  1. What is the Syok Syok Pass?

NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass, offers more than 4,000 hours of entertainment of various genres

including Korean, Malay, and Chinese VOD content as well as access to 5 Korean channels beginning 4th December 2017, at an affordable RM10 per month.

  1. How much is the NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass?

It is priced at RM10 with 0% Goods and Service Tax (GST) for 30-days validity

  1. What am I entitled to in this pass?

More than 4,000 hours of entertainment of various genres including Korean, Malay, and Chinese VOD content as well as access to 5 Korean channels – KBS World, ONE HD, Oh!k, tvN, and K-Plus.

  1. Are NJOI (DTH box) users entitled to this pass?

The NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass is open to everyone with an NJOI Now account to purchase and watch via the NJOI Now app or website at www.njoinow.com . The NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass is not available for NJOI (Direct-To-Home box) users or on Astro GO.

  1. How often will the content in the pass be refreshed?

Content will be refreshed on every 3 months, providing all subscribers with more than 4,000 hours worth of VOD content and 5 Korean channels.

  1. How do I buy or subscribe the Syok Syok Pass?

NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass can be purchased via the NJOI Now app or website at www.njoinow.com .

Once you have selected NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass in STORE tab, you may complete the transaction using a Malaysian bank issued credit/debit card.

Please note that purchasing of the NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass is only available on Android devices and via web browser at the moment.

iOS devices are not able to carry out purchases for NJOI Now at the moment, iOS in App content purchases will be made available soon.

  1. Do I have to re-subscribe to the NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass after a month?

Yes, it is a one-time off payment for a month access to the NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass. If you’d like to continue having the access to this pass, please make another purchase the following month.

  1. Are purchases on NJOI Now subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 6%?

No, Astro services including purchases on NJOI Now are at 0% GST starting June 2018.

  1. Are the purchases on Astro GO subject to the Services Tax (ST) of 6%?

Yes, purchases on Astro GO are subject to 6% ST starting 1st September 2018. However, do note that the prices displayed on Astro Go are excluding ST.

  1. Where can invoices be obtained for purchases made on NJOI Now? 

To request for an invoice, contact www.astro.com.my/contactus/form and provide your name, Astro ID, mobile phone number and/or email address along with your purchase information.

 

  1. Can purchases be cancelled after receiving a confirmation of purchase? 

Cancellation of purchases on NJOI Now are not possible upon confirmation of purchase.

  1. Can NJOI Prepaid credit be used to make purchases on NJOI Now?

Currently purchases can only be done within the NJOI NOW app in Android devices and via web browser, using a credit/debit card issued by a Malaysian bank.

  1. I have purchased NJOI Now Syok Syok, where can I find it?

Navigate to the “On Demand” tab to enjoy the full breadth of the content. Day-date Korean shows can be accessed via the “Channels” tab.

  1. I don’t need so much content in a pass, I prefer to buy the Riang Ria Pass/ Huan Le Pass /Korean Pack Pass. How can I purchase the content separately?

Unfortunately, the Riang Ria Pass, Huan Le Pass and Korean Pack- Pass on NJOI Now has been discontinued. The NJOI Now Syok Syok Pass offers more value as it has than 4,000 hours of entertainment of various genres including Korean, Malay, and Chinese VOD content as well as access to 5 Korean channels.

  1. Can I transfer or copy the content from NJOI Now to other devices?

 No, the content from NJOI Now is not transferable to other devices

  1. Can I watch the channels or content that I have bought on my NJOI box such as Astro Ria on NJOI Now?

 For NJOI subscribers, you will be able to watch the free channels or content that are available on NJOI NOW.

  1. What can I get on NJOI Now if I were to link my NJOI box account?

    You will get access to all the free offering on NJOI Now – 18 free channels and selected free video on demand.

  1. Why are some of the content on my NJOI Now blacked-out?

    It may be necessary to black-out viewing of certain content where such content is not available for OTT viewing. However, since the blacked-out content is not substantial, we are still making the entire channel available for viewing so that you can still enjoy the remaining content of the same channel.

  1. Does NJOI Now offer an ala-carte prepaid viewing option?

No. NJOI NOW has no a-la-carte channels for purchase. The only available subscription for purchase is our all new Syok Syok Pass which is RM10 with 0% Goods and Service Tax (GST) for 30-days validity

  1. Can I change the language and/or subtitle on NJOI Now?

    Yes, subject to the availability of the specific subtitle and audio language for the selected content, you can change the subtitle and the audio language according to your preference when the content is being played.

Overview

 

1. Can I download a content for offline viewing on NJOI Now?

Yes – if you’re using NJOI Now on an Android or iOS device, you can download selected content via WiFi or mobile network, and watch the content offline later without requiring an Internet connection.

 

2. How much does it cost?

The feature to download content to be watched offline is currently free for all NJOI Now users.

 

Finding Content to Download

 

3. What content can I download?

Selected content can be downloaded on NJOI Now which is indicated by the Download icon (downward pointing arrow) present near the content title / episode in the content details page. Alternatively, you may also apply the “Downloadable” filter to be shown only content which are available for download.

 

Downloading Content

 

4. How can I download a content?

Once you found a downloadable content that you’d like to download, start the download by tapping on the Download icon (downward pointing arrow) near the content title/episode, and the download will start. Some content has three video resolution options (high, medium and low) – and you can also choose your preferred default resolution in “Settings > Downloads”.

 

5. How many content titles can I download at once?

Only one content title can be downloaded at a time, but you can queue your downloads. As soon as the first content has been downloaded completely, the next content in queue will start downloading.

 

6. What is the maximum number of content I can download on NJOI Now?

The maximum number of content you can download is dependent on the storage space of your tablet and/or smartphone.

7. Why does my download take so long to complete?

Download duration depends on the size of your download and your Internet connection speed. Higher resolution downloads over low speed connections may result in lengthy download durations. Please check your Internet connection and ensure that you have a stable connection and are connected to a high-speed broadband with at least 5Mbps speed in order to ensure fast download progress.

 

8. Will the content that I’ve downloaded on one device also be available on all my other registered devices?

No – the downloaded content will be available only on the device that you’ve used to perform the download.

 

9. Can I watch the same content while it is being downloaded?

Yes, you can watch the same content while it is being downloaded. Please do note however that the download progress will be paused while you’re streaming content, and that you will have to resume the download afterwards.

 

10. Can I watch another content while I have a download in progress?

Yes – you can watch another content both on the same or another registered device while you have a download in progress. Please do note however that the download progress will be paused while you’re streaming content, and that you will have to resume the download afterwards.

 

11. What happens if I close the NJOI Now app or lock my smartphone / tablet while a download is in progress?

Your downloads will be paused until you bring the app back up, after which downloads will resume.

 

12. How can I check the progress of my download?

Just go to the “Me” section on NJOI Now and look for your downloading content under the “Downloads” tab, and the progress of your download will be shown to you there.

 

13. How do I know if a content is being downloaded, and also if it has finished downloading?

At the content details page, a content that is being downloaded will have “Downloading” indicated, while a fully downloaded content will be shown as “Downloaded”.

In the “Me > Downloads” section, a content that is being downloaded will have progress bar shown next to it, and a content that has been fully downloaded will have the time left to watch shown.

 

14. Can I choose an option to download over WiFi connection only?

Yes, by default downloading only over WiFi is enabled and downloading over cellular data is turned off. You can always go to “Settings > Downloads” and then find “Use Cellular Data For Downloads”, then change your preference accordingly. When setting is turned on, you will be able to download content by using your cellular data network.

 

15. What happens if I lose my connection halfway through while a download is in progress?

The content that is being downloaded will automatically be paused and will resume when Internet connection is re-established.

 

Finding & Watching Your Downloaded Content

 

16. Where do I find my downloaded content?

You can find your downloaded content under the “Downloads” tab in the “Me” section located on the top left corner of the app.

 

17. How long am I able to keep my downloaded content?

It varies from one content to another. The number of days/hours/minutes left for you to view your content in offline mode is shown for each of the downloaded content for your reference.

 

18. Can I watch my downloaded content when there’s no network connection?

Yes, your downloaded content can be watched even when your tablet or mobile device is in offline mode. During this time, only the “Downloads” tab of “Me” section in the app can be accessed. Please be sure you do not logout of NJOI Now before going offline.

 

Deleting Your Downloaded Content

 

19. How do I delete downloaded content?

It’s simple – just navigate to the “Downloads” tab in the “Me” section, and select the downloaded content there to be deleted.

 

20. What happens to downloaded content that has expired?

Expired content will be deleted automatically from the app, freeing up your device storage.

 

Others

 

21. Can I download an expired content again that had been automatically removed from my device by NJOI Now?

Yes, you can download the content that has been automatically removed from your device, as long as the content is still available on NJOI Now and you are entitled to it.

 

22. Can I transfer my downloaded content from my device to another device, like my computer?

No, downloaded content can only be accessed from the NJOI Now app from the smart device that you have used for download.

 

23. How many devices can I download content onto?

At any one point, you may download content on up 2 registered devices for Transactional VOD (TVOD) contents and maximum at 4 registered devices for Non-TVOD contents; with the condition using the same/single Astro login ID.

 

24. Can I download the same piece of content onto two different devices?

Yes, you can download the same piece of content onto two different devices.

 

 


NJOI Now: Coupon Redemption

  1. I have an NJOI Now coupon, how can I redeem the code?

Redeeming a coupon code to enjoy your favourite content on NJOI Now is as easy as 1-2-3! Just download NJOI Now app, register and log in to your profile and follow the steps below:

Android & Web Users:

  1. Go to “Settings > Redeem your coupon”.
  2. Your Astro ID will appear in the page, fill up the coupon code below it and tab “Redeem”.
  • There will be a pop-up message once the coupon has been successfully redeemed, tab “Continue” and you will be directed to the show that you have just redeemed, start watching on NJOI Now!

iOS Users

  1. Go to http://redeem.astro.com.my
  2. Key in your Astro ID, fill up the coupon code and click “Redeem”.
  • There will be a pop-up message once the coupon has been successfully redeemed, click “Continue” and you will be directed to the show that you have just redeemed, start watching on NJOI Now!

 

 

  1. How many times I can redeem my coupon code?

All coupon code can only be redeemed once unless stated otherwise. Please verify your personal account details and ensure that you are logged in to the correct account before redemption.

 

  1. Can I redeem my coupon code for a different content at the same price?

All coupon code is only valid for the content as stated in the Terms and Condition.

 

  1. I have successfully redeemed my coupon. How long will this valid?

Please refer to the Terms and Conditions stated at the coupon as all coupon comes with a unique validity period. Please ensure that you have redeemed and watch the content before it expires. No extension will be provided for unredeemed coupons.

 

  1. I have a coupon code but I am not able to find the content in NJOI Now. How can I redeem the coupon?

You may redeem the content at “Settings”. Please ensure that the coupon code is correct and has not expired.   1. I have a coupon code but I have purchased the content without redeeming the coupon. Can I cancel my purchase?

We regret that cancellation of purchase is not possible upon confirmation of purchase. If you have a coupon code, please ensure you follow the correct steps for redemption.

 

  1. Can I watch the content I redeemed from a coupon on other devices?

Yes, you may enjoy content you have redeemed on up to 4 registered devices using the same profile login. Content can be watched concurrently on up to 2 or 4 registered devices depending on the content.

  1. What is the minimum hardware requirement for my computer to be able to run NJOI Now?

Currently, NJOI Now can be accessed via web browsers on computers with a minimum of a Pentium Core i3 processor with at least 4GB RAM. As for Mac products, Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM.

  1. What operating system would I need on my computer if I want to access NJOI Now services on it?

NJOI Now is currently available on Windows 8 and above as well as on Mac OS X Mavericks.

 

  1. Why am I required to download and install the video player plugin when I’m accessing NJOI Now from a web browser on my computer?

The NJOI Now video player is a browser plug-in* required for to play channels and content on the web browser. You will be prompted to download, install and allow access for the plug-in prior to viewing content.

 

  1. Do I have to be tied up to a particular Internet service provider to enjoy NJOI Now?

No, NJOI Now can be enjoyed via any Malaysian broadband or mobile data provider.

 

  1. How much will I be charged to access NJOI Now on my mobile network connection?

Standard mobile operator data charges will apply. As we are using adaptive streaming, the actual amount of data you will be using for one-hour streaming will vary between 300MB to 700MB

 

  1. Will NJOI Now have adaptive streaming, as every user will have different bandwidth when accessing the Internet?

Yes, the viewing experience for NJOI Now will differ from one user to another depending on their Internet connection. The recommended broadband speed for viewing is 5MBPS and above.

For smartphone and tablet users, it is recommended to use NJOI Now with WiFi connection instead of a mobile broadband connection to avoid excessive data charges.

 

  1. Why am I experiencing very poor video streaming quality on NJOI Now?

Please check your Internet connection and make sure that it is stable and is 5MBPS and above. To prevent excessive buffering, NJOI Now employs adaptive streaming technology, which adjusts the streaming quality of the content depending on the quality of the network connection available and the speed. We recommend a network speed of 5MBPS and above for optimum viewing experience.

 

  1. Why does my video screen sometimes turn black and I can only hear the audio?

This usually happens when the Internet connection is unstable and results in only sufficient bandwidth for the audio to be streamed. Please check your Internet connection and make sure that it is stable and is 5MBPS and above.

 

  1. Why do I get Playback Error saying I am not within the location where NJOI Now is not available when I’m in Malaysia?

NJOI Now is currently accessible in Malaysia only. If you are located in Malaysia, kindly ensure that your device is not connected via any VPN* service. *Virtual Private Network

           

  1. I encountered a technical error after completing a purchase, what should I do?

Go to www.astro.com.my/contactus/form and provide your name, Astro ID, mobile phone number and/or email address along with the details of your purchase. A representative will be in touch within 48 hours.
